Mailroom Office Schedule

(All times are approximate)

7:45-8:00 a.m. Newspapers delivered and distributed.
  • The FAB newspaper distribution list is on the clipboard located on the counter below the mail boxes.
8:50 a.m. 1st Wolverine Tower mail pick-up: (Wolverine Tower box is located to the right of the campus mail box, under the mail boxes).
10:30 a.m. Campus Mail is delivered
10:30 a.m. Campus Mail and Mail to be Metered is picked-up.
11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. U.S. Mail is delivered and sorted
  • Mail is sorted in the appropriate mail boxes according to the name, the four digit office number and the campus zip. (Note: this is letter mail only, packages are delivered to UM Mail-Service and they are delivered to Fleming, the last stop of the day.)
12:50 p.m. Wolverine Tower mail is picked-up.
1:30 p.m. Campus mail delivery and picked up.
2:15 p.m. Mail Service package delivery and final pick up campus mail.


Metered U.S. Mail is not sorted in Ann Arbor, it is sent by truck daily at 6:00 p.m. from UM Mail Services to Michigan Metroplex Processing and Distribution Center in Pontiac.

Stamped U.S. Mail: The U.S. Postal Service Mailbox is located on the sidewalk, corner of Thompson Street and Jefferson Street. Daily pick-up is between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Mail/Newspapers Protocol

In Government Relations continuing effort of provide mailroom services to the building, we are asking for your assistance in following the protocol;

A member of the Government Relations staff will provide assistance during Anita's absence to process the newspapers and mail.

If you happen to notice the newspapers and/or mail have not been sorted, please do not take it upon yourself to remove your mail/newspapers. Rather, please call 3-5554 and notify the Government Relations staff that the mail/newspapers have arrived. Upon notification, a member of our staff will sort the mail/newspapers as soon as possible.

If you see a member of the Government Relations staff sorting the mail/ newspapers, please wait until all have been sorted even though this may result in you returning to retrieve yours.
